Virtual Villagers The Lost Children is the sequel to the popular sim game, Virtual Villagers A New Home. A lot of the basic game play has stayed the same, but the few things have changed enough to make it worth playing.
The story goes like this, two villagers are exploring a cave when they pushed through so far they found an opening. The opening was directly followed by a huge waterfall that our villagers unfortunately fell into. Luckily they landed safely at the bottom. As they emerged from the water, they were met by a group of hungry, dirty looking kids. Now that you’re trapped on the west side of Isola, it’s your job to re-build a life for the survivors and take care of the lost children.
Like Virtual Villagers A New Home, making your villagers do things is very easy, for example if I want one of them to create fire I simply drag a villager to some firewood. He or she will collect it up and take it to the fire pit. You then need to find some dry leaves to burn. Once you’ve found all the things you need, drag your villager back to the fire and they will begin to light it. This same game structure goes for building homes, farming and fishing. Making babies is also a part of virtual villagers, to do this all you need to do is drag one villager to another villager of the opposite gender.
There are a few little side objects for you to complete including collectables, which are small jewels and shells that you can get the children to pick up. The game also gives you random scenarios, these pop up in a text box that displays a scenario of your choosing. For example, your villager is walking on the beach and comes across a strange liquid, you can choose to either drink the liquid or pour it out. Each choice will have a different consequence that can turn out good or end terribly.
Virtual Villagers The Lost Children is a great sequel to Virtual Villagers A New Home, it keeps all the things that made the first game great and adds some nice new features along with improved graphics and a new story.
